Arts Aflutter is a public art extravaganza organized by the Carnegie Visual Arts Center that will showcase more than 50, 4 ft. metal butterfly sculptures, painted and decorated by commissioned artists, throughout historic downtown Decatur, Alabama in the spring and summer of 2009. Artists will be asked to draw on the cultural influences and history of Decatur to inspire their whimsical designs, thereby creating butterflies that come to life. The event will be funded through individual and corporate sponsorships that allow a broad cross-section of the Decatur community to contribute. Profits from Arts Aflutter will benefit the Carnegie Visual Arts Center and the Decatur Public Art Committee.

The "Oh the Place You Will Go" butterfly is on the move once again! "Oh the Places You Will Go" disappeared from its landing site for a second time recently.
